Pollyanna Doyle

Pollyanna Doyle is a Brighton-based artist who makes artwork that explores the relationship she has with herself, others and art-history. Through figurative painting and surreal ceramics, Pollyanna’s works embody various emotional states such as anxiety, desire and melancholy. Using bizarre characters roaming a psychic wasteland, the artworks examine a personal narrative, while paying homage to artists and writers from that past. With the power of 3-D ceramics, she brings the surreal and real world ever-closer, by giving imaged objects physical form. This year, Pollyanna intends to uncover more of the painted world she is building and push the boundaries of her ceramic practice.
