Brighton Art Space CIC is a growing art community in central Brighton, UK. Established in 2022, BAS started out on Regent St in the North Laines. With high demand for studio space, we opened our second site (BAS2) on Trafalgar Street in 2025. We’re gathering momentum!

Occupying these two historic buildings, BAS and BAS2 offer safe, affordable artist studios. Our Regent St site has studio spaces for 15 artists, and two gallery spaces; and our Trafalgar St site has studios for 9 and a dedicated workshop area.

As working artistic hubs, BAS/BAS2 provide the space and means for artists to grow and thrive. Passionate and talented, every BAS artist is a valued member. Community is at the heart of everything here. From graduate students to internationally renowned artists, we do all that we can to encourage, support, and champion our members and friends.

We’re proud to be a CIC, which means that we are a community-interest company that’s non-profit, with real-world, applicable, actionable values and ethics. BAS has a clear objective – grow the community and support our members however possible. Inclusivity and friendliness are central to this ethos. We are committed to exhibiting art in every medium, from a diversity of artists with a wide range of perspectives and influences.
