Emily Maguire

Emily is an artist who works predominantly using oil paint. She is a recent graduate from the University of Brighton with a degree in Fine Art: Painting. 
 
In her work, abstraction and figuration make playful accord, where the flower motif exists as the grounding element, and abstraction exists as the aftermath. She aims to explore the possibilities of the flower, freeing it from its familiar contexts, creating an image that goes beyond something recognisable. Atmospheric colours and gestures over-accentuate feelings, whilst figurations subliminally hint at a sense of place.
