I am a figurative abstract painter and I paint because I must. It’s when I trust my intuition. My work is built through bold, expressive colour and abstract gestures, a mixed media, where the figure emerges and dissolves within an evolving surface.
Whether working on a commission or a broader body of work, I look for the moments I want to celebrate—the subtle, powerful, often unspoken qualities that make each person unique. The human figure remains central, driven by a deep fascination with our emotional connection to the world around us.
A painting is complete when it reveals something unexpected—when a story surfaces that feels both personal and universal. Often my daughter is my muse and each piece becomes a reflection of both the subject and myself, inviting a unique and emotional connection with the viewer.
I studied Fine Art at Chelsea and Westminster in London, after completing a BA in Spanish Literature and Economics at the University of Leeds. I have spent over twenty years studying and painting the human form, which continues to underpin my practice.
